Tree Swallow
102357
The iridescent blue-green Tree Swallow is found in marshes and fields across much of the United States and canada. During winter months, it flies to the southernmost portions of the U.S. and Mexico, particularly along the Gulf Coast. It eats many types of flying insects, but may forage for berries and seeds in bushes. Swallows often gather near water in large flocks, and prefer to make their nests in hollow trees and nest boxes.
