Found in the southwestern United States, this scrub-jay can often be seen in pairs or flocks. It lives in a variety of habitats including scrub forests, oak forests and suburban areas. Insects, fruit, eggs and small lizards make up much of its diet. It is a friendly bird and will sometimes take seeds or nuts from humans. It makes its nest from twigs and grass in trees and shrubs.
